History and Partnerships

This year marks the 5th annual Move for Uganda 5k race in downtown Chattanooga. Each year, Southern Adventist University, in association with Invisible Children, partners with Lee University and UTC to host this event in support of their partner school, Lacor Secondary, in northern Uganda.

  • What is my money supporting? One-hundred percent of your registration fees goes directly to Invisible Children's Schools for Schools project. This project partners schools in America with schools in Uganda to help rebuild the education system that has been affected by Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army. For the past 5 years, Move for Uganda has been parterned with Lacor Secondary School.  
  • Does it cost to register?  If you pre-register online now, it's $25. You are welcome to sign up on the day of the race at our registration table for a cost of $30.
  • What other activities will there be besides the 5K race? There will be model village explaining more about the current situation so you can see first-hand where your funds are going. There will also be live music, games, crafts, concessions, and merchandise.
